What 100 days asks of you

The Bible has 1,189 chapters. Spread over 100 days, that is 11 or 12 chapters each day, read straight through in the order of the books. Most days take about half an hour. The Psalms days are quicker; the Gospel days run longer, and day 83 (Luke 2 to 13) is close to an hour.

Going this fast changes what you notice. You see Genesis and Exodus as one story in a single week, hear the prophets answer the kings a few days after you read about them, and reach the Gospels with the whole Old Testament still fresh. It is a sprint, and it works best with a start date, a chart on the fridge and a friend doing it with you.

Questions people ask

How many chapters a day is the 100 day Bible plan?

Between 11 and 12 chapters a day. The Bible has 1,189 chapters, and the plan cuts them into 100 even portions in Bible order, Genesis 1 on day 1 to Revelation 22 on day 100.

How long does each day take?

About 33 minutes on an average day at a typical silent reading speed of 230 words a minute. Chapters vary in length: the shortest day (Psalms 129 to 140) takes about 10 minutes, and the longest (Luke 2 to 13) takes nearly an hour.

What if I miss a day?

Read the open day next and carry on. The chart shows which days are still unticked, so nothing is lost. Some readers catch up on a weekend; others simply finish a few days late.

Which Bible translation should I use?

Any complete Bible works, because the plan goes by chapters, not pages. The day pages on this site carry the World English Bible, which is in the public domain.

Can I listen instead of reading?

Yes. BibleDo sets Scripture to music word for word, and 64 of the 66 books have songs today. Each day page links to the books it covers where songs exist.
